Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 13, 2026
1. Introduction
huu.app ("we", "us", or "our") is a collection of tools that run in your browser. This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data when you use them. The short version is that almost nothing happens to it, because there is no server on the other end to send it to.
By using the Service, you agree to the handling of information described here. This policy applies to everyone who uses the Service.
2. Everything Runs in Your Browser
Every tool on huu.app does its work on your device. Nothing you type, paste, open, generate or run is uploaded.
This means:
- All processing happens locally, in the tab you have open
- There is no server of ours to receive your input, because the site is a set of static files with no backend and no API
- Your files, text and images are not uploaded, and nothing is stored on our side
- We cannot see, access, or monitor what you do with the tools
Three tools do fetch something from another address in order to draw themselves: the Timezone Viewer loads map tiles, and the Markdown Editor and the Emoji Picker load images. Those requests carry what any request for an image carries, your IP address and which image you asked for. They never carry your input. Section 6 names them.
3. Information We Don't Collect
Because all processing happens in your browser, we do not collect:
- Personal information (names, emails, addresses, etc.)
- Data you input into our tools
- Results or outputs from our tools
- Browsing history or usage patterns
- Device information
- Location data
- Anything that would let us tell one visitor from another, or the same visitor from one day to the next
4. No Analytics
There is no analytics on this site. No Google Analytics, no product analytics, no tag manager, no A/B testing, no session recording, and no pixel from anyone.
Our host, Cloudflare Pages, offers its own visitor analytics. It is switched off. We do not know how many people visit huu.app, which tools they open, or where they came from, and we have chosen not to find out.
What remains is what remains for any website: serving a page is a request, and the machine that serves it records that a request happened, including the IP address it came from, the file asked for, and the time. These are Cloudflare's operational logs, used for delivering the site and blocking abuse, and retained under their policies rather than ours. We do not read them, build profiles from them, or connect them to anything you did inside a tool, which we could not do in any case because nothing you do inside a tool ever reaches them.
5. What Is Kept in Your Browser
huu.app sets no cookies at all. Not one, of any kind, which is why you have never been asked to accept any.
The site does keep a few things in the browser's own storage, so that it remembers how you left it. All of it stays on your device and none of it is readable by us:
- Your preferences:light or dark theme, whether the seasonal effect is on, whether reduced-motion mode is on, and where you last put the command line window and the editor's divider
- Tool settings: a few tools remember what you had selected, such as the list of zones in the Timezone Viewer
- Command Line and Code Editor files:files you create at the prompt or in the editor are kept in this browser's database so they survive a reload. They are never uploaded. Remove one with
rm, or use the Forget everything button in the Code Editor to delete all of them at once - The site itself: the pages and scripts are cached so the tools keep working when you go offline. This is a copy of the site, not a record of you
Clearing site data for huu.app in your browser removes every item above, including your files. On a shared machine, that and the Forget everything button are the two ways to leave nothing behind.
6. Third-Party Services
Almost every file the site needs comes from huu.app itself, including the fonts, the Python runtime and the map library. These are the only addresses your browser is asked to reach that are not huu.app, and this list is meant to be complete:
- Hosting: Cloudflare Pages. Every page is served from there, so every visit is a request to Cloudflare. Their operational logs are described in section 4, and their handling of them is governed by their own privacy policy.
- Map tiles: OpenStreetMap. The Timezone Viewer draws a world map, and the map images come from tile.openstreetmap.org, run by the OpenStreetMap Foundation. Opening that tool sends your IP address and the part of the map on screen to their servers. Nothing else about you is sent, and the zones you have added are not. Every other tool works without it, so if you would rather not make that request, do not open the Timezone Viewer.
- Images: cdn.huu.app.Our own file host, on a separate address. The Markdown Editor's sample document contains a placeholder image from it, and the Emoji Picker fetches an emoji from it when you copy one as an image. Both are requests for a picture and carry nothing about you beyond your IP address.
There is no advertising network, no analytics provider, no error reporting service, no font CDN, no embedded video, and no social media widget anywhere on this site. We do not share user data with anyone, which is straightforward given that we do not have any.
7. Data Security
Since all data processing happens in your browser and no data is transmitted to our servers, your data is as secure as your device. We recommend:
- Keeping your browser and device updated
- Using secure networks when processing sensitive data
- Clearing browser data if you're using a shared device
8. Data Retention
Since we do not collect or store your personal data or tool usage data, there is no data retention period for such information. Any data stored locally in your browser (such as theme preferences or tool settings) remains on your device until you clear your browser data.
Server logs collected by our hosting provider are retained according to their policies, typically for a limited period necessary for security and operational purposes. These logs do not contain personal information and cannot be used to identify individual users.
9. Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal data, most data protection rights do not apply. However, you have the following rights:
- Right to Information: You have the right to be informed about how we handle data, which is provided in this Privacy Policy.
- Right to Control Local Storage:You can clear your browser's local storage at any time to remove locally stored data (theme preferences, tool settings).
- Right to Access:Since we don't store your data, there is no data to access. However, you can contact us if you have questions about our data practices.
- Right to Object: You can stop using the Service at any time if you do not agree with our privacy practices.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or other jurisdictions with similar data protection laws, you may have additional rights under applicable regulations. Since we do not collect personal data, these rights are generally not applicable, but we are committed to respecting your privacy rights.
To exercise any of these rights or if you have questions, please contact us at info@huu.app.
10. Data Breach Notification
Since we do not collect or store personal data, the risk of a data breach affecting your personal information is minimal. In the unlikely event that we become aware of any security incident that could affect you, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
However, you should be aware that any data stored locally in your browser (theme preferences, tool settings) is subject to the security of your device and browser. We recommend keeping your browser and device updated and using secure networks.
11. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we don't collect any personal information from anyone, including children, this is inherently protected.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information.
12. International Data Transfers
Since we do not collect or store personal data, there is no personal information of yours for us to transfer anywhere. The Service is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, whose network is global, so the request that serves you a page may be handled in a country other than your own and logged there. The same applies to the map tiles described in section 6, which are served by the OpenStreetMap Foundation from its own infrastructure. In both cases what travels is a request for a file, not information about you.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by:
- Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
- Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Providing notice on our website if changes are significant
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the Service after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
14. Contact Us
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us at:
Email: info@huu.app
We will respond to your inquiry within a reasonable timeframe.
